did some work this weekend buttoning things up. aligned the drivers door and hatch a lil better, solved my headlight/radio/horn issue, finished putting all of the interior in, installed the speakers for the radio, & fitted the side skirt end caps better. on to the good stuff... yeah...those are 3 point rear seat belts before: after: while aligning the side skirts, I saw a part I made years ago that I forgot about. aluminum spacer to use with the manual rack prothane bushing set.
Yes! I have not checked in on your build-up in a good while so this is excellent, Mr. Craig! It is good to see your car done up in a nice, shiny paint job and finally done, Boss. The new place looks nice
thanks Jonny, so glad to have it back. had my friend stop over the other day, 20v's unite. need to get rid of that rear bumper, ugly as... started making a battery tie-down for the optima I have.
thanks, im more than happy with the color too, I love it. been enjoying it every day, rain or shine. its nice that it doesn't rain in the car anymore from numerous places. motors running strong. just did an oil change yesterday(3 years later), and lowered the front a bit since it was too high now that the usdm front bumper is gone. hard to tell in the previous pics, but the gap was about 1 1/4", now its matched to the rear at about 1/4"
...and I got a great email this morning. the big ass box from EP Importers is thru customs, and ready to ship. should be going out today.
package from EP Importers showed up yesterday. left work early to make sure I was home on time, they showed up right at the beginning of the 3 hour window I scheduled. opened it to find everything nicely packed been wanting one of these forever. had a kouki one years back and it was beat to sh!t grill is in great shape, fits perfect, all the clips were there and intact. front end=done next project is to fix the circled areas and spray this in satin black. need to make a bash bar as well.
Been doing little things here and there, bought the lexus strikers, i think it looks cleaner. Also polished my eyelids, which had 2 layers of paint and one layer of plastidip on them, what a pain...

its been a rather long time since i made an update, so heres the past few months...
8/6/2014 meet...
then my son asked for donuts for breakfast, the look on his face when i said "ok, lets go"...priceless.
was under the car doing some work, took an up the skirt shot for fun...
then Dennis aka fiveten hooked me up with his spare 86 nights limited edition shift knob, many thanks again Dennis!
and i decided its time to do some exhaust work. time to remove the T3 test pipe and make my own flex pipe. ordered the flex section, 2 flanges, and a few of the SCE copper crush gaskets.
been having a long time aggrevation with the Charge Light illuminating at random times. turns out there was a small coolant leak from the upper hose causing the problem, so i fixed that up and then my electric fan decided to short out and now i have to pull the headlight harness to fix it...all before a North NJ cruise i have organized for 11/2. havent touched teh zenki rear bumper either, ill save that for the winter.
managed to get the car up and running moments before having to leave for this cruise, turned out my alternator was fried. put a friends spare in and it fired right up and no problems all day. the cruise went great, 21 86's showed up in total. theres some pics and videos on the event page. https://www.facebook.com/events/584818631644139
car will be going under the knife yet again this winter. long list of things to do... -BT con rods -ARP head studs -TRD 0.8mm HG -ITG stacks filter from T3 -T3 front weld-on coilover kit with 8Kg springs & AGX shocks -rear 6Kg Swift springs -finish the zenki jdm bumper and bash bar -fix the oil pump crank seal oil leak -clean up my engine harness -relocate battery to the trunk -paint the engine bay ...and if i have time, rebuild my rear end. also building a 20v for a friend so i probably will get most done but not all.
just stacking parts up in the basement for now. last of the motor parts will be here next week, then I need to pull the motor. that's going to be a task in itself... no more garage so its outside, and theres a sh!t ton of snow from the past week...well over a foot. other problem is that I have a herniated disk and am starting physical therapy this week. and pulling a motor is pretty difficult in this state(which I did before and it was a very bad outcome).
only difference is its under a car cover now, and all the snow.
