Re: Cx Racing Coilovers
I've run them on my VW MK3 GTI and they're great. They come out of the same build house as many other coilovers we're familiar with, like D2, K-sport, BC, etc.

Re: Cx Racing Coilovers
i was also wondering the same...has anyone ran them on their rolla??
Re: Cx Racing Coilovers
they look like they are built well...
but there are some concerns
spring quality and valving, which are the heart and soul of a suspension system.

If they come from the same people who make D2, BC and K sport I would steer well clear. No comment from me on strength or materials, but they drive like ****. Spend the money and buy something proven. You would be better off on a good spring and shock setup like a bilstein or koni shock and saving your money.

You likely didn't setup the coils right if they didn't ride well.

Re: Cx Racing Coilovers
I have been running these for the past year and im actually impressed with the performance for the price, on my last three corollas ive been cycling through all sorts of suspensions from gc coils with the usual 9k swift springs n hts/ 6k trd rear to megan weld ons and have even wasted money on 5hitty agx setups.
If your low on funds its a good setup, otherwise save up a little more and some PArts by max coils. Or if you got money to waste, go out and get some baller arse dg5s.

Parts by Max are the same thing, with some bells and whistles added on. Taiwan spec, luck of the draw Silvia valving in a new flavor of the week. 400% critical valving will never ride well, much better off with HTS which are at least in the range of what an AE86 needs.
Re: Cx Racing Coilovers
I recently bought these and put them a little over a week ago. So far so good. My car is a DD and I don't drive it hard. It is night and day difference compared to the old one that previous owner had. He had blown TRD shocks/struts front and back with matching springs so the car used to drive like a cadillac (lol). Previous owner is a wanna be ______________.... He knew how to talk but doesn't really know jack about the car. There are quite a few problems that I resolve since I owned it and now (knock on wood) is running good.
I was posting all my DIYs on my facebook but here are some links to the pictures. I went with these to try them out. Like I said, i don't track the car but will eventually get there some day . Main concern at the moment is for her to ride smooth and drive well on the street other than YES, I'M ON A BUDGET LoL

Re: Cx Racing Coilovers
Those struts are actually Tokico illuminas in the front and stock shocks on the rears with TRD springs.

Everything was setup as it should be, damping just left a lot to be desired and didn't match the spring rate at all. I use an Australian brand called Shockworks, right up there with the Sachs setup in my uncles TA22 race car and the difference is massive in all driving conditions compared to any of those. You get what you pay for.
Re: Cx Racing Coilovers
Funny enough, I think shockworks uses Bor Chan dampers with their own valve stack. At least you know exactly what they charge for the revalve.
Nothing wrong with the approach by the way. The magic is in the valving mostly, the guts of shock are pretty simple otherwise (untill you step up to Penske Ohlins etc).

Re: Cx Racing Coilovers
They use Neotech dampers and as you say do all the development with valving and spring rates themselves. The money is really in the development and knowledge of setting it up, but the quality of machining is truly fantastic also. A lot of very high level cars in Australia are starting to use them now.

My friend has max coils on his s13, and he is in love with them, only thing that sucks is that they are weld ons.
