Hey guys
So my 85 GTS has a factory open diff (non LSD)
and I am planing on putting a Zenki LSD unit in it, and I was told that the Zenki LSD is not a direct fit, the axles will need to be trimed about 7mm for the unit to fit in?
So my question is is there any other modification I need to do to put it in? And if I am putting a aftermark one in(Kaaz, Tomei..), do I still to trim the axles?
Thanks! Please share if you have any related experence.
Is it the LSD direct fit the GTS Open diff ?

The Toyota LSD equipped AE86s used shorter axles then the cars equipped with an open diff. From memory it is closer to 8mm. These cars have been apart so many times (after all they are 30 years old), that you may already have different axles. In one car I disassembled, it had one of each!
only the OEM(TRD?) requires the shortened axles. You may want to contact Weir Performance*, they will probably know more... like they may know how long each axle type actually is, so you could measure... They also likely know exactly how much the standard axles needs to be shortened.
