agze oil sump replacement

Postby xarion » Sun Jun 01, 2014 1:02 pm

HI Guys

I am going to be replacing my oil sump. How do you remove all oil residue from the block and gasket so that the sealant can stick ?

Thanks!

A can of spray-on engine degreaser ?

there isn't a paper gasket between the oil pan and block. fipg from the factory.
hopefully you have the engine out. I used half a roll of paper towels and some carb cleaner.

If you are worried about degreaser residue, then go over the sealing areas with a cloth soaked in Brake Cleaner (or use Acetone).
This will clean and dry the surfaces for the FIPG material.
