***Skizzup's Money Pit pt. 2***

Postby Skizzup » Tue Feb 05, 2013 12:15 pm

well, a few months ago my car has been changed quite a bit. with the forum wipe, i cant access the first couple pages of my old build log, so i figured ill start a new one.

rather than start from square one, i just post a few pics of it's progression and how it will sit now.

2003-4:
when i first got it. lowered on eibachs and tokico blues. my dad had already swapped it to 4ag with gts tank, cluster etc etc.
Image

2005ish:
fast forward, got tokico hts, tein camber plates, ground controls up front and trd springs in the rear. put in my dads old sparco seat to help me from sliding around the autox course. 13 in rota rb's with 215/50/13 kumho v710 helped me zip around the course much faster. also got a shine auto goodline kit as i was in the middle of a domino effect accident. lol
Image

Image

2006-2008:
lots of random small changes here and there. i started to get more into drifting. went with some sportmax 002 in 15's

marina autox to go driftttt lol
Image

Image

i did a lot of work to the car at that time, but i cant quite remember all of it.

more action shots from 2009:

dumped the goodline rear in favor of a jdm kouki rear with jblood valances.

more marina drift
Image

somewhere between 2008 and 2009 i got a set of work meisters and a set of work equip 01.
Image

Image

here's a few random action shots. thunderhill skidpad way back in the day.
Image

Image

part 2 coming shortly!

the sr20 swap is amazing. so much speed and power. buts its not without its downfalls. lol i've had to change the exhuast manifold gasket like 3 times in one month. im beginning to think the manifold might be the issue, so im going to have it machined to make sure it's 100% flat. the gaskets are blowing out consistently in the same spots.

also, gotta figure out what rear end im going to run. lol

How do you like that PSM EVDM unit and the Bride Zeta L (fits better than the standard)?

thanks John. H and RuizXIII

i thought the EVDM was going to be WAY too small to read (it's viewable dimensions is about an inch) but to my suprise, it's very easy to read in the day time and in the night. i might eventually switch out the evdm and go with standard gauges, but then again i might not. haha. but for the price of the EVDM you cant beat it!

i like the zeta iii type L because of the taller leg bolsters and higher back. im not a small guy (5'9 190lbs lol) and it fits great.

hahaha yeah my friends were telling me to dress up as psy during halloween.

one thing i do miss about the 4ag is the intoxicating exhaust and engine sounds. lol i absolutely loved the way a cammed 4ag with headers no cat and rs*r gtii.

here's a video of me with the 4ag still. too bad the sounds quality gets lost with a cell phone camera.

thanks guys.

yeah ls400 is soooo comfortable. plus the 1uz with vvti has enough umph to have fun. lol sliding in the rain is fun, but on the flip side it has one of the nicest rides at 140mph. hahaha

fixed up my exhaust leak from the manifold today, and changed out my wastegate acutuator to an HKS one. finally no more boost spiking or creeping. also added 3 cars to my "highway kill list." hehe

Going to be cutting a custom gauge cluster soon.

Trying to source defi link water temp and oil pressure gauges in green and 60mm is no easy task.

Going to order speed hut tach and gps speedo.

I'm just trying to make an old car more modern. Haha

hmm, I once used my smartphone with hud to keep track of speed when my speedo gear broke..
but.. does the smog shop still need the mechanical tranny speedo to perform smog check?
or is speed calculated by the spinning rollers?? :?
