VA: East coast 1986 AE86 hatchback for sale (now REDUCED)

Postby Lowtekk » Sun Feb 09, 2014 2:51 pm

SOLD!!!

It breaks my heart to do this, but that's how life goes. Lots of things have changed. I've got to sell this car.

***Reply to this thread or PM me for details or interest.***

The car:
-1986 Toyota Corolla GTS Hatchback (real kouki GTS w/ AE88 vin, not converted SR5)
-Panda paint
-180k miles (~75k on motor swap)
-Clean VA title + 2 keys in hand
-You can register it as an antique -> no inspection/emissions required!
-Located in northern Virginia

This is a running, driving, leak free AE86 that starts every time. It's fun as hell to drive and it gets a lot of love on the street. It sounds great (ITB's + HKS exhaust), isn't too low (unless you want it to be), and sticks to the road. It's been through a full suspension, steering, rear end, exhaust, cage, and maintenance refresh since I've had it. I'm a hard ass when it comes to details, so even the windshield wiper arms are fresh...front and back... If I were to keep it, the only thing I would do is go over the body again.

This car has a ludicrous quantity of recent maintenance and a lot of parts, many of which are less than a year old. If you buy this car tomorrow, you can drive it anywhere. It's never left me hanging!

Overall condition:
-Exterior condition: 7/10
-Interior condition: 8/10

-AC system removed, vents/controls intact
-Heater core bypassed (probably needs a new one if you want to hook it back up)
-Firewall box welded for distributor, no clearance issues or firewall bashing during swap
-Shine Auto TRD style wing
-Rear windshield wiper (new arm/wiper works great, Dec 2012)
-Front windshield wipers (new 2013) - refurb arms
-Apex Twin Cam 16 & Trueno badges on rear wing and front grill
-JDM Raybrig H4 converted headlights w/ new bulbs (and rebuilt/sprayed popup headlight buckets!!)

Wheels/Tires:

The good:
-Car starts, runs, stops, and drives well (fun as f*ck)
-Zero leaks (no coolant, trans, oil, diff, anything)
-Car starts every time in 2 cranks, hard and fast
-All factory lights work, inside and out (aftermarket fog lights need looking at though, they don't work)
-MONSTER stack of receipts + Haynes manual + 20v 4A-GE motor manual
-Crack free black dash in great condition (rare as f*ck, even the clock works)
-Working parking brake (also rare for these cars :))

The not so good:
-No AC/heat/PS, if these are things you care about. PS system is included, heat just needs a new core.
-Fog lights need some love
-Exhaust leak from somewhere, probably the header which I'll throw in new gaskets for (entire system is new, might just need adjustment)
-A little corrosion on rear fenders (several small spots recently welded and sealed by Piper Motorsports)
-Missing rear fender trim (slight roll+pull on the rear fenders for fitment as well)
-The radio antenna had to go to fit the fender bars, so the front fender hole is still there (maybe I'll buy you a magnetic bandaid!).
-Passenger side door skin is a little janky (car comes with a solid replacement door!)
-This car is almost 30 years old. It's in good shape but it's not perfect! It's just old and it will continue to need your love if you want it to stay running!

10 thousand dollars? Really?
Such is the way of these cars in good shape on the east coast. This one comes with $8,000 of receipts from the last year alone.

Interesting car. The color isn't my thing, but I can appreciate the work you've put into it.

In appearance it's been pretty static since I bought it. Mechanically, a whole lot has been fixed. :)

Would you be interested in a trade for my 2006 STI? Bone stock except for a Go Fast BOV. Never raced or smoked in. Obviously it would be your car plus cash but let me know if you're interested. If not, if you still have it when my Sub sells we may talk  GLWS Regardless!
