Re: anyone installed some of the T3 coupe interior panels?
they were selling like 6 prototypes of door panels on the facebook page, looks like we will finally have them soon i hope so...
"AE86 Door Card Prototypes for sale cheap. Our final design will have some minor changes, but these are perfectly useable. These come bare aluminum with mounting hardware. $60 per pair or right and left. I have 3 sets of these. Call us at 530-672-8600 or message us through Facebook if interested."

Wow, these are cool, but unfortunately my 4yr old wouldn't agree with them. There is always fabric to cover them though!

Re: anyone installed some of the T3 coupe interior panels?
Almost two months now. Everytime I email them, i get "we are working on it" as a reply. I was really excited to get these, but now just don't give a damn. Was planning on ordering alot more from T3, but having second thoughts now
Re: anyone installed some of the T3 coupe interior panels?

yep i was just looking at thier website yesterday and saw all the panels. i dont really care much about rear panels in a gutted/caged hatchback, but i am interested in the door panels.
anyone know if i can get the stock ones off without opening my door? my driver side is uh... well it needs new hinges.
and does anyone know if the "hot rod" billet window rollers are made to order? would love to have a set to complete the look. blue plastic would look like poo on those nice powder coated panels.

Re: anyone installed some of the T3 coupe interior panels?
Sorry guys I completely forgot about this topic.
Let me start with shipping. Paid on a Tuesday and got these by Friday, awesome turnaround time. And that's about where things stopped being good.
Opened the box and there are only 2 tiny pieces of foam paper separating the 4 aluminum panels. Luckily of the 2 that were scratched one was on the back side and the other you cant tell unless you are 5in away because of the wrinkle finish.
I can deal with this so far. So lets head out to the car and mock everything up.
Panels behind the seats:
1. The stock seat belt guide will not work with these. You must cut it off.
2. The front most holes use plastic body clips to hold them in. Horrible idea. The panels go over the weather stripping which puts A LOT of strain on the clips and didn't take much for them to pop right out.
3. 2nd hole back. Once again something overlooked. That mounting point is recessed in the body. It is not flush with the rest, especially after the panel is already pushed out because of the above issue. A plastic tab is used here as well. I couldn't even get this one in. Instead I just used a small slide hammer to bring that mounting point out.
4. On to the 3rd hole.....or not. The hole in the panel was 1/4in off of the hole in the body. The hole you are supposed to use in the body is also raised, then slopes back down. So time to elongate the hole in the body and pull that fucker out with a slide hammer as well.
5. The last mounting point I cannot comment on since I removed those brackets a long time ago.
The plastic mounting hardware was definitely not going to work. I track my car and cannot afford clips popping out and panels flopping around.
To fix this I went and picked up metal threaded incerts from ACE hardware and welded them to the body as secure mounting points.
Rear hatch panels:
I can only comment on one side as the other was in an accident. It was pulled straight, but I don't want to feed false information as I doubt its 100% factory straight.
Only issue I had was with the lower mounting point. It uses a plastic clip as well, but I had to elongate that hole as well to get the body and the panel to match up.
I contacted Gabe with all of the issues and he said it is being addressed.

No problem at all. Overall they are not badly designed, just a lot of little things that added up to make them more of a hassle than I would have liked.

Sounds about par for the course. The communication with them leaves something to be desired.

Yeah, communication is lacking with them, especially after payment has been made. I want to buy more from them, but am really hesitant
Re: anyone installed some of the T3 coupe interior panels?
^I can't imagine what's taking so long in your case. I know you said the deck lid panel was custom'ish since it didn't have the cutout for the brake light, but it shouldn't take this long.
Maybe I've just been lucky. Their customer service and communication have been excellent from my experience - much better than most in the auto industry. I've purchased and traded parts with them. They've even sent me a few little hardware odds and ends for free a couple times even though I was willing to pay .

I emailed them a few times and all I got in return was "we are working on it", I'd wait a few weeks then email again and get the same answer, then about two weeks ago I emailed them and he said "It had been shipped". Regular shipping usually takes a week, still nothing. I've been checking everyday. Wanted to order door panels, but am DEFINATELY going to do the poor mans door mods in the tech section now. Funny thing is I have a bunch of locals over here that wanted them and were waiting for mine to come in to see them before ordering. I don't think they will be ordering any now.
I should post the emails up here, hahaha.
If I don't get them this week, I'll see what I can do with paypal to get back my cash.
