Club I need help ASAP!

Postby Zenki85 » Sat Jan 26, 2013 12:09 pm

Here's my situation. Let me first start it off with a picture

Image

So here are the front coils for a ae86.

I took apart the old "stock" struts taken off the rotors and I was putting the break shield on. Then I notice the holes did not line up. So I thought maybe Its the wrong side so I took the other one apart and I was the same.

The holes for the shield on the strut is shorter than the original. And only one of the bolts on the right would bolt up.

My question is. Did I get the wrong spindle on my megan or is my "stock" suspension weren't really stock? thank you.

You either have the wrong spindle/strut setup or you making a simple orientation mistake(most likely this one).

Make sure you have the correct spindle on the correct side of the car and for reference the calipers on the front spindles mount on the side closest to the front bumper. By looking at this picture:

It seems the bolt patter is pretty close, if not the same, as to what you have in your picture. In the picture the left assembly is the passenger side, and the right one is the driver side. Your calipers bracket/calipers will mount where the dust shield is open.

Im sure you just need to look at it again. Hope this helps

I believe I got the wrong spindles then. The measurements from my original then to the Megan's are completely off

You didn't have stock struts.

Here's a pic of Greddy's.
