Gap in bellhousing plate.

Postby NateN81 » Tue Jul 16, 2013 3:24 pm

Hey Guys,
I"m new and had a question about the bellhousing plate. I took my car to a shop and had the clutch replace. Everything seems fine. I was under the car today and notice that there's a gap and some bent parts in the bellhousing plate. My questions is should I replace it as soon as I can? What kind of short term or long term damage am I looking at? Any advice or input would be great. Thanks again.
I have some pictures below.

That is just a dust sheild to keep animals out of the bellhousing, and clutch dust in. No big deal. But I would go back to the tranny shop and bust heads. Those are some real superstars over there if they tried to use a pry bar to separate the trans from the engine. That means they missed a bolt or two and tried to pry it apart, no telling what else they halfassed or just plain messed up.

You only need 4 big bolts that hold the bellhousing to the block. 4 bigguns.
