Small port 4age AW11
Was the small port ever standard in the aw11?

Not sure if the small port was available in the AW11, but I don't think so. The small port was introduced in '89 in the AE9X, but I don't think the MR2 got that engine. Too bad really. I think '91 was the last year for the 16v GE. Especially bad here in the U.S. as the 4AFE took over 'til the 7AFE reared it's ugly head. The U.S. Toyota market kinda died on the performance end for a few years.

Yeah... only three engines ever went into the AW series; the 3A (AW10),
the 4AGE (AW11) and the 4AGZE with the supercharged bigport 4AGE. The
smallport was supercharged in the AE92, but too late for use in the AW11.
