Wheel size question
I have a set of front wheels in the size of 15x8 -14 offset with Falken 912s in 195-50-15 and I have a chance to have them rebarreled. I was wondering if I could add an additional half inch to the backside without any negative drawbacks? Also, at the moment I barely rub the edges of my bumper which are already shaved, I really don't want to shave them anymore because I don't want to compromise it's integrity. You think if I go wider and maybe go with a 205 that I'll start having clearance issues? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: Wheel size question
Seems like a lot of money and effort to make them 1/2" wider. You're already stretched with 195 width tires, so I'm not sure why you would want to do this. If you really want to, just get under there and measure to see if it will rub.
Re: Wheel size question
Half and inch on both sides will make your wheel a 15x9. That will fit but will require hammering and moving your caster. Will have to roll the fenders for sure or flare em.

The only reason I am toying with the notion is because they need to be refinished anyway. If they need the barrels replaced, I might as well go wider if the price comes out the same as long as I have no clearance issued by the strut and spring.

My fenders have already been rolled and slightly pulled as well as the inner well hammered to clear them being a 15x8 -14 offset. I'm just worried that if I do go a half inch wider in the rear that I may have clearance issues with the strut housing or spring. The fenders are already painted so I really don't want to have to touch them again.

They need refinishing anyway and it may cost about the same to go a little wider. I was curious since I am already stretched with a 195 on an 8" wheel, why not stretch a 205 on a 8.5" wheel as long as it clears the strut and fender since my fenders have already been painted after I clearanced them for my 8" -14 setup.
Re: Wheel size question
you will not touch the spring or strut housing with that size of wheel in the rear.
