Feeler: New OEM Toyota 4.5 and 4.7 final drive sets

Postby AoyamaJPN » Tue May 26, 2015 11:23 pm

Hi Club4ag!

I recently started reviving my old Japanese contacts for 86 parts. I am able to get great deals on OEM final drive sets in 4.556 and 4.778. They come with everything except bearings.

If I priced these at around $600 shipped, would anyone be interested? I noticed T3 is selling for over $900, so I think this is a pretty good deal.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Is there any value for OEM Toyota parts that come with all the hardware? Or, do folks these days just want the cheapest thing they can get?

Also, I noticed they don tv have the ratio I would want, 4.556.

Just curious, thanks for the comments

He makes a good point, but oem will likely be higher quality.

I was just able to find the 4.7 online for $644.XX + shipping. The 4.5 appears to be discontinued, at least according to the US dealer network.

It sounds like a fair deal.

Weir does t sell cheap kits they are all high quality CNC cut gear sets. Your right he doesn't sell 4.56 because not to many people use that ratio, there's not much of a performance improvement with that ratio as it's slightly taller then stock where as 4.77 there's a bigger difference. His kits also come with the same stuff stock Toyota gears come with. I'm not saying you won't sell any but just keep in mind people on this forum will opt to got with a higher ratio at half the cost..just the reality around this community..

With YJ, you gotta pay an auction company plus shipping twice right? Curious how much the final cost would be after all that

With the current exchange rate it would be close, but probably a little more expensive than what you quoted. Your price still sounds like a fair deal. I only posted because some people want to know the original value, even if they already know that's not what they would end up paying.
