4AC Belt Sizes

Postby NPNK » Mon Jan 20, 2014 8:34 am

Just picked up an 86 SR5 w/ 83K miles on it. It's super clean with a few minor exceptions. The belts squeak a little and I would like to get them all replaced. I went to the local O'reilly and that hadn't a clue as to what sizes they all were. If anybody has any info or could line me up with the FSM for the SR5/4AC, that would be great. Thank you!

Go to a different auto parts store and never go back to that one. Any idiot counter man should be able to look up the sizes either on the computer or in the great big application book. I worked parts for 5-6 years. I'll check my big books when I get to the shop tomorrow. No need for factory service manuals, belts are universally sized. You just find the size you need and buy it. Google would probably find them.

Also why bother replacing them if all they probably need is to be tightened? Are they cracked or frayed? Then replace them. Of they squeak sometimes, try tightening them up first.
