Wait are you guys just talking about the rubber pads the steel mounts sit on?

Or is there anything between the steel mount and the block or anything else I am missing?
I only had one rubber mount however the other side is spaced up the same amount with a block that I made. Wouldn't work well for drivin but will be fine for mockup.

To clarify
Right now I have the rubber block on the pass side mounted to the cross member. The motor mount sits directly on that. The mount bolts directly to the block.

Drivers side has a wood block the same thickness as the rubber block. That is bolted directly to the steel motor mount. That is bolted directly to the block.

If you look closely there a cover on top of the rubber mount which is a separate piece; again, it's only 1/8" thick roughly. It has a white dot on it (the rubber mount has a yellow dot).

Gotcha. Yeah I have that and factored for that thickness on my block.

Right now the discussion is only on the shape of the primaries. Like I already said the plan is 4-2-1 but we haven't even gotten there yet.
I need input on whether the primaries should be done something like the other headers in the pics above?
Or should I keep moving forward with my design that would require 16v to run the AW11 dizzy and a custom heat shield?

phanist
you are the only one who has put down money, and one of the only ones to show a commitment to buy so what design do you like the best or what are your thoughts ON THE PRIMARIES ONLY right now.

Tor parts voted for something like the JSP header. Personally I do not like the look and not only is it not equal length but it would be hard to make something similar in equal length. It also has quite short primaries.

Well from the jsp design.. I dont have any knownledge of the performance gain of it but i would prefer to have a higher rise primaries .. If you were to go with the jsp route make sure at least make sure your design could still be able to use the PS and Ac unit... As i believe with the jsp you wont be able use them... I once sent and email to jsp and show interest in that mani.. The reply were their with their manifold i wont be able to use my Ps and ac unit any more or at least i was told in multi respond from them.

Since im the only one that is commited my vote high rise equal length ...
In your post with the sample design the first pic on top seem nice . That look like the cxracing mani? But better quality?

But at the end i would prefer performance over look.. If you can come up with some thing that would gain some hp and durability ... So i dont really care if it kinda ugly as long as it fit my setup and gain some horses
:))

Did you see the pictures of my design mocked up on my motor? You have only commented on the pictures of headers that I posted as examples of ones I didn't like.

Yeah as far as I know RHD has more clearance in every regard.
Which design are you most interested in?

Been a busy week and I have still been going back and forth in my head.
I really don't want to do a knockoff of someone else's work or make something significantly similar, especially if it's currently available like the JSP.

Need a few more days to mull it over.

c. Something not highrise but with a nice look and flow

+1 on this solution

A decent LHD header for a build 16V engine would be nice.

I think I will continue to move forward with this design I envisioned. I will finish this mild steel prototype and if all looks good I will move forward with making yours in stainless.

Tor parts I am working on options that will work for you as well.

I got the silkk road ones in the first picture and they would not fit no way! I'm running manual steering and cusco motor mounts

How much do the cusco mounts lower the motor? I will try to account for that as well.

Right on. I figured it would be small like that. 10mm or even more shouldn't be any problem at all.
