Can someone guide me through the correct procedure to pull the drive shaft out.
Need disconnect both differential and transmission side. Have some ideas but just wanted to check with you guys.

4 nut/bolts on the diff
2 bolts on the center support bearing
pull it out of the trans (your gear oil will come out)

Sometimes a pry bar is needed on the trans. end to free the yoke from the output shaft and seal after everything is unbolted. Get creative if you have this problem.

i've never had that issue on any car, once the driveshaft is disconnected from the rear and center, it should slide out without issue, usually it will slide/fall out on its own.

Thanks.
Do you pull the spline out of the diff also, is the fluid high enough to leak out of the diff there?

^No, the ds just unbolts from the pinion flange. No fluid leaks out.
Longrain, I've experienced it on a few rwd/awd shafts upon removal. All were newer vehicles though so the seal was still in good condition.
The problem also occurs when re-installing the ds if the yoke is inserted too far the splines can get stuck. Coating the splines and outside of the yoke with a layer fresh gear oil helps and should be done anyway.

Don't lose the bolts for the driveshaft, at the pinion flange and at the center. It's a PITA to replace them.

a few things BEFORE you start....
1) take a scribe, or punch and mark the rear flange and the rear diff yoke... this will help you put it back where it came (match up the marks) from... this isn't REQUIRED... but can help.
2) as you disassemble the 4 rear bolts... look at the order they are, and the direction the bolts fit.
I'm not sure about a prybar on the transmission end... but I have needed some assistance on the diff end... but I use a BIG rubber mallet, and I hit the yoke where the "U" joint fits... this usually pops it free

I usually drain the tranny oil first, because once the yoke is removed the oil spills out.
Loosen the 4 nuts/bolts at differential flange, loosen the 2 bolts for carrier bearing. Shaft should then slide out of the tranny, be careful not to scratch/damage the yoke!

Just a couple tips. When you pull the driveshaft, its not a bad idea to replace the transmission output shaft seal. Also when you get the ujoint off of the diff side and there fluid leaking, this means you will need a new pinion seal.
