Hey Club4AG,

I just replaced the front tow hooks on my 1984 AE86 SR5 because one of them was bent (a previous owner must've hit a curb or something).

The top tow hook (red) is off a 1984 AE86 SR5. The bottom one (silver) is off a 1985 AE86 GT-S:



Is this a SR5 vs GT-S thing? The pictures I found of OEM tow hooks online look like the red one, not the GT-S one.

Of course, that's assuming the GT-S one is stock, and not off another car. It definitely looked like it was on there a long time.

Does anyone else have front tow hooks like the silver one above?

I have the red ones on my SR5, but that doesn't help you any lol.

Both of my gts' (1985 and 1986) had tow hooks shaped like the bottom silver one.

Same as Deuce's experience here. Never had an SR5.

Wow we learned something today. Who woulda thought Club4AG was still helpful....

Yeah it's an SR5 vs. GT-S thing. The GT-S had the larger lower bumper with lip so I think they had that section of the tow hook further back to avoid damaging the bumper when tying it down for shipping.

The GTS is larger cause it has to clear the OEM lip
