w58 swap question. what fork/slave
w58 swap question. what fork/slave
i was wondering what fork do i use when using a custom bellhousing for the w58 to 4ag. do i use the w58 fork and bearing or do i use the t50 with w58 bearing? also what slave? i read in one post that its the w58 slave but i just wanted to be sure.... to me the w58 fork is really long and the slave i have for the w58 from the celica supra looks like its going straight to block.... just was looking for some solid info.
Re: w58 swap question. what fork/slave
The niteparts bell housing does not come predrilled for a clutch slave cylinder so you can decide either gts or celica and whichever arm you want. I'm going with all celica stuff

I'm using the niteparts bell as well , have you came Across the issue where the bearing carrier sits too far out on the snout kind of seems like it will fall off with operation ?

Have you mounted the transmission up with the flywheel and clutch? It seemed fine when I mocked mine up. Pretty much all of the splines should be engaging the clutch disc.

Not yet waiting on my clutch to come in
Re: w58 swap question. what fork/slave
sorry for the late reply but ya im just gonna use the ae86/t50 fork and slave. but when i mocked it up it seemed like it wasnt fitting right...
Re: w58 swap question. what fork/slave
I dont know if you know this, but the fork and throwout bearing only move fractions of an inch. I wouldn't worry about it coming off. After reading what Ron aka turtle posted about his w58 swap and my mockups, I would recommend using w58 throwout arm, bearing, and slave even.
Re: w58 swap question. what fork/slave
a quick comparison of the two they look exactly the same. just the ae86 one is half a inch shorter. but the two fork end where the bearing clips to is the same.
