Help: stripped wire

hey guys,

So I was looking under my dash and found a pretty bad stripped wired. stripped all the way to fire maybe beyond. Can anyone tell me whats it for? Everything works so It hasn't shorten out yet

Its beige with black runs along side with a beige with black and pink strips wire

WHAT CAR IS IT, YEARMAKEMODEL, any electrical modifications?????
Left/Drivers side kick panel, right?
What doesn't work when it's un-plugged?

You could check the continuity between where it plugs in and each of the fuses, then knowing the fuse, the fuse diagram will tell which accessory its for.

that looks like a WHT / BLK, typically ground. If it's TAN /BLK, then i dunno, but that plug looks like the main cluster that powers that fuse box considering the BLK / RED.

my suggestion to you is follow it, make sure that's the only problem wire. pull out the connector using a pick. Get a roll of shrink wrap, slide the shrink wrap over the wire. shrink it.

would be better to replace the wire. oxidization will ruin that wire because of the heat that made the insulation come off.

Source: used to own a 77 mgb with p.o. rigged wiring.
