What are These Plugged Vacuum Lines?

Postby BeanBone » Sat Jul 27, 2013 7:03 pm

As I was installing my intake (which called for some vacuum connections), I noticed a few vacuum lines plugged up on my supposedly JDM bluetop. Here's a picture:

Where did these go originally?

Also, the the vacuum switching valve on the MAF shown in the instructions seems to be absent on my car.

Is there any downside to these modifications? Should I replace them, or is this just someone removing useless emissions crap? Could this have anything to do with my rough running on start?

qwhen you get your oem intake elbow and AFM setup, youll see they connect to that. the one from the TB goes to a "T" fitting in the elbow, the other is part of the a/c idle up system and connects to the ISCV that is attached to the AFM.
haha cali...i got one of your 86's and you're not getting it back.

Thanks!

When I got the car, it had a really rough homemade intake "system" and didn't have a switching valve. Now, I'm running the Injen intake system. Is there any downside to keeping those line plugged and not running a switching valve? Did the JDM motor have them?

neither are needed. if you dont have a/c, delete teh valve on shock tower, if the idles a lil low, use the adjustment screw on TB. search images to see if its on JDM motor, idk, ill see if my friend has his imported Levin tonight with him and check.

Thanks for your help, it's much appreciated.

Car has AC but it doesn't work. Idles nicely now that the intake is on. The old one was leaky and messing up the idle terribly.
