could anyone tell me what would be a good price for this?
im new to this forum so if this isn't the place I apologize but here goes just found this on craigslist and the first ive seen in my area for sale in a very very long time the guy is only taking offers and doesn't have a price in mind. Here on the East Coast.. that'd probably sell for 4-6K If its absolutely flawless.

I think he's full of it. You can't just top off the AC on these cars, most AC shops no longer deal in R12 and if there's a leak, it can easily cost you a grand to have it FOUND and fixed. More likely $1500. As an individual, you can't legally buy it or add it either without an EPA permit. So...he's saying "easy" to a $1500 problem.
Also, he's got some magic dealer if they know 3000 of these cars were built in 1985, the oldest hands on the forum tried to get build numbers and couldn't get estimates from anyone. Toyota didn't break out the GT-S numbers and didn't keep any numbers at all. More smoke and magic.
It sure looks clean, and the custom panda paint job and new stickers could cost an easy $3000 but all the mechanical stuff thta was ignored, like sunroof and radio n/g? Make me wonder what kind of aborted project/restoration it was. And just how much tofu tax he's adding on to there. Needs an exhaust? OK, how hard is that? Who buys a total repaint and doesn't take care of the exhaust? Um, someone who is buying and flipping maybe?
I'd guess maybe five grand, trading off the problems for the custom shiny paint and figuring it will need proper new wheels and rubber, and there's enough tofu tax on that. If the serial numbers match up, and considering the interior and engine bay all look really clean.
