Cigg lighter outlet more power?

Looking to get more power from the cigg lighter
because i am going to run a 500 watt mini amp
to it or if anyone knew how to run a 12v adapter
straight to the battery?
any info would help guys

To run more power to the cig lighter you need to run bigger wires specced for that many amps.
It would be easier to run your own wiring. I would probably use a relay to power the amp. You can trigger the relay with a switch or just with a power wire post ignition so it is on when the car is on.

Agreed. I would not recommend running anything with decent amperage draw, to be connected to the cigarette lighter plug.
Even with a mini amp, I would suggest simply wiring a fused link to the battery and a remote wire from the radio to the amp and have a good ground. Simple hookup, and should get good sound when wired correctly.

Good point. I wasn't really thinking about most amps having the remote wire. In that case you don't need a relay. You do want to put an inline fuse as close to the batt. It should be rated just over the draw of the amp. Make sure to use proper sized wiring rated higher than the fuse.
