Ae86 brake and clutch issues

Postby Eightysixer23 » Mon Jun 03, 2013 10:06 pm

What's up guys! I've got all sorts of issues with my brakes and clutch clave cylinder. Brakes are super sloppy but noticed that brake booster now leaks. Master slave cylinder is not even a year old. Second of all clutch slave won't pressurize. I had to by a new clutch slave be wise the other one leaked through I to the rubber boot. NHL matter how much I try I can't get it to pressurize.

How did you determine the booster is leaking?

Aftermarket parts can be cheap and sometimes don't last. Stick with the Aisin brand for the brake master since that's who supplies Toyota. Also, the ae86 brake master is sensitive to overextending the pedal when bleeding and the seals can get damaged. It's best to tape a piece of wood under the pedal or to the floor so the pedal only gets depressed roughly 75% of the way.

Regarding the clutch hydraulics. It's best to replace the master and slave at once because one usually fails not long after the other. Again, stick with the Aisin brand since that's who supplies Toyota. It's probably a good idea to upgrade the soft line as well with a ss braided line while you're in there to rule that out.

Also, what's your bleeding process? Is fluid flowing out of the bleeder on the clutch slave when bleeding? I installed a brand new clutch master, slave, and ss line the day before yesterday and I had no trouble whatsoever getting pedal pressure using a 'textbook' bleeding process.
