Anybody know how the door key cylinders go in? I need to put mine back in after doing a restore of my car, but they don't seem to line up correctly with wholes.

The barrels are sided so try them in the other doors.

^That, and line up the metal rods from the door handle/lock mechanisms to the clips on the lock cylinder and clip them in place (be careful with the plastic clips on the lock cylinder because they break easily). There's a also a metal retention clip that slides between the lock cylinder and sheet metal on the inside of the door to hold it in place.

Thanks guys! They still don't align though. Am I supposed to bang and force them in?

I completely gutted and re-assembled two doors last fall. Something is not right if force is needed to line up and attach the rods to the clips on the lock cylinders. They line right up and you clip them together using only your fingers. The clips are tiny and plastic. They will break if you use force.

Edit: You can try turning the lock cylinder and also adjusting the lock on the door handle to make sure they're synced. Also, maybe try lining the rods/lock cylinder clips up without the door handle/rods bolted to the door, or at least with them loosely connected to the door.

Put them back in? As in - these are the locks that came from your car? Or are you trying to use new locks or ones from a different car?
