It all really comes down to what size tire you want to run, and how you want it to fit. Are your plans to get the widest tire possible? Or get wide wheels and stretch the tires? I think if you answer that question, you can determine what diameter, width, and offset wheel you should get. If you calculate the right size, then you wont need spacers. But if you get wheels that are of a different offset, then you could use spacers to get the desired wheel track you desire.
