Big cam 4ag MPG

Postby BosoHachi » Sat Apr 27, 2013 8:06 pm

Just a quick question, I plan on running some decent sized cams in the future. Maybe 272/288 or 288/288 cams. How do you think they will affect the MPG (when tuned of course). I know its a general question but I'd just like to know if it would completely demolish my MPG, slightly lessen it or improve in anyway. And if there are any can set ups you'd recommend I'm all ears!

The whole build will consist of a blue top 4ag, ST ITBs, 11:1 comp pistons, said cams, full tri-y exhaust and some valve springs.

The more you modify the less fuel you save as a general rule.

But many have seen improvements with modifications. Many people who turbo their cars see improvements in mpg due to the extra torque.

you shouldnt care to much when you are aiming for a buildup like that.. cuz your mpg is going to suck.

if you want MPG, keep it stock

4ag is slow as hell anyway.

People with turbo's only see higher mpg with lower boost and primarely highway where the engine runs at a consistent rpm instead of constant changes due to traffic

It has as much to do with torque as it does butterflies.

Any guesses on what the mpg would come down to?
