Japan star motor inc. STAY AWAY!

Postby v33sonata » Fri Apr 26, 2013 6:36 pm

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this but I want to pass on my experiance. I got a jdm 20v BT from Japan star motor inc in Cali. Engine was listed as in working order and with 30day warrienty. on day 28 I got it installed. Go to turn it over and all sorts of issues I called the company to let them know I was having issues. They told me to try a few things and get back to them a week later I did everythign they asked and did get it started but with a horrible knock! The manager told me to diginose it and call him back. 2 days later I did. However he was out of the country. So I spoke to a guy named Chris who told me to let the car run at idle for and hour change out the oil and see if that helped. Being I did a compression test I knew this was a waste and wasted the money on oil and did it anyways. Still loud knocking. At this point he told me he would have to talk to the manager who was in japan buying more motors. weeks go by call after call and nothing is resolved I asked for a 1/2 refund. Chris said he would throw it out there the next day my offer was rejected. I also was ok with a $400 refund that was less then half declined again! At this point I just wanted a way to cover some of my costs. So almost 90 days later and they come up with the solution to send me a ST20v and make me pay to ship it from NY and me to pay to have the BT shipped back to them. At this point I told him no way! thats 400 in shipping plus I have to switch all my stuff over to a ST a motor I dint want and it would cost me more then the BT! FInally after the run around I filed a dispute with my bank. They tried to fight it. But I had all the proff and info the bank wanted. They wanted to make sur ei was willing to return the motor. However Japan star motor inc would not give us a return shipping address. Luckly they gave me the $600 back I asked for. But what a pain in the ass. The engine is still nto working as I have spent another 300 on a head and 600 to have it rebuilt.

Japan Star Motor just gave me the run around hoping that the bank wouldnt dispute the charge after 90 days. Their customer service was the worst I have ever had. and of course the product and said warrienty means nothing. STAY AWAY GUYS!

Good to know! Another engine place to stay away from is STC or Soshin Trade Corp in South Gate, Ca.
Bad engines and customer service.

another engine place to stay away from is JDM ENGINE IMPORTS and ALN JDM AUTO MOTOR.... those two are a stay away.....im filing a dispute too for a blacktop that i order from jdm engine import who then say he pay ALN jdm auto motor to ship it out to me.. came an half ass blacktop head with some unknown 4a block.. not 7rib...not even 16v block.. only have 6 bolt crank... every one stay away from them... i have to pay $1750 buck and waited 5 week for a screwed engine... and yah they want me to pay for return shipping at first then say oh no you too late u pass the return date policy.. which they claim it only within 30 day... and they told me a whole bund of sh...t like it a rare model ... or could be that you so lucky some one has tune and mod the engine into something way better than the blacktop itself...,... then they start to accuse me of changing out the block and trying to get free stuff..... OMG...... T_t

Just a quick bump and update. I got a new head and had it rebuilt when I took the old head I touched #1 cyl piston and it fell down about 1.5inchs. So the bottom end is toast. Stay away from these guys. I see they post on ebay with videos of compression tests. I call BS!
