Need help... T50 leaking oil from bell housing
So I decided to take my gts bellhousing off my gts transmission and swap the housing onto my other transmission . I bought small gasket for the front of the housing and one big gasket that sits behind the housing. When I installed everything together and put gear oil in the transmission. It leaks out from where the shaft comes out from. I cannot get it to stop leaking. Is there a gasket or seal that goes behind or after the bell housing that I forgot to install. I need some help ASAP . Thanks

IIRC, there is both a gasket and a seal. The bearing retainer shaft houses the seal. It also has the gasket behind it that is installed before you bolt it on.
the pic below is not a T50 (it is a T40), but it is the same setup. I think the retainer is a little more square at the base. you don't need to remove the bellhousing.

So the seal goes on shaft in between the two gaskets and do I apply any type of sealant ...aviation sealant ???
Re: Need help... T50 leaking oil from bell housing
the seal itself is like a rubber disc with a membrane in the middle. It does not require a sealant.
the gasket you can use your judgement on. some use sealant like RTV grey, some don't. As long as you torque the 4 bolts down to what the FSM says and the old gasket is completely removed, then you shouldn't have a problem without sealant. Adding a sealant to the gasket might be overkill, but it will work.

How many quarts of tranny fluid do you recommend. Thanks
Re: Need help... T50 leaking oil from bell housing
It's a rear output seal that goes in where the tranny and drive shaft meet. You can buy one from Toyota.
I changed my trans clutch and flywheel and hooked it all up put oil and started leaking. Bought the seal and put her In and BAM no more.
But you also have to put the seal evenly. Cheers!
