AE86 Automatic transmission

Postby tlea » Wed Jun 09, 2021 7:34 am

Hi. I have a Blacktop that is being fitted to an automatic trans from a ae86 rwd. Little tricky but flexplate is from MR2 for the 8 bolt crank. My question is this, did AE86 autos use a plate like a spacer between the flexplate and crank? The flexplate that came off the blacktop has that plate behind it as well as the reinforcing ring that goes on the bolt side. Spacer is 1/8"

Never had an auto so can't confirm but on parts diagram, doesn't look like there's any flex plate, just a spacer (32116)

That is perfect, thank you. The 32116 spacer is what I'm asking about. What I'm calling the flexplate is what they call the gear

the flywheel/flexplate bolts are NOT the same as in a regular flywheel bolt........ part# 90105-10048 x 8 is what you need to mount the flexplate
