Afternoon everyone,
I've been banging my head against this and trying to figure out where I need to go next. I've been trying to clear codes and finally got to one last one which is
Code 6
RPM Signal
- No NE, G signal to ECU within seeveral seconds after engine is cranked
- No NE signal to ECU when the engine speed is above 1,000 rpm
I was able to verify resistance on the female plug of about 170 which I saw is within range but not sure if I need to test male plug? Ive been hearing different things and just want to see what you guys think?
My next step is probably testing at the ECU but even there Im not sure which pins I need to be testing
Im assuming NE+ with G- and G+ with G-?
Last little tid bit is that the car runs like a champ no misfiring and has had a recent change in plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor. If I keep above 4k RPM in any gear the check engine light goes away. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I'd start by checking all the wiring around your distributor and igniter. Look
for broken or frayed wires, damaged plugs, shorts, burned wires. In particular
look at the wires just where they connect to the distributor which is where they
move around the most.

Haha thanks Kiosk! How do i test continuity if my dizzy is a two plug rather than the one plug like whats pictured?
Re: CEL Code 6 cant figure it out :(
Looks like im only getting resistance from Ne+ and Ne- but nothing from the G+ or G- connector. Going to swap dizzys and see. Will update once i tackle this
