i have a ae86 its a sr5 with the 4ac.. if u have any info lmk. jus want to find out more about my corolla.

Um... you said that it's an SR5, so it's an SR5.

I think he means sport DLX or SR5? I think DLX came with out front mud flaps, and was only offered in the early years. Not completely sure.

Wikipedia mentions the Sport DX, but I've never seen or heard of it before... The "article" it cites doesn't even mention the DX. I can't find information on the DX anywhere.

the sr5 is the base model. look at your vin number if your vin says ae86 then you have a sr5 if your vin says ae88 then you have a gts. the dx model is the ae82

If you have an SR5, theres really not much else to figure out. The only things left are dependent on the year. If its 1984-1985, it is the zenki model. If its 1986-1987 it is the kouki model. Each one came with slightly different exteriors and interiors. The list of differences between those two models is enormous, so it is best left up to you to do the research. Google will answer a lot of your questions.

I have a 85 corolla sport DX and the vin is an ae85 but the chassis nubmer on the firewall is still an ae86, the sport DX has a non-folding rear seat, it has no rear sway bar, you have to use the key to open the gas door and the trunk, the sun visors have no mirrors in them, and the door panels are different. those are the only differences I can spot.

I have an '86 coupe. The door cards are the "3D" GTS style, but with fixed map holders as supposed to the elastic ones. I do however have a rear sway bar, rear folding seats, and a remote (cable) trunk and fuel door release. It is an automatic with an JT2AE86... VINs.

It was manufactured may of 85 with a vin of jt2ae85s7

ya man no problem I had only heard rumors from the depths of the inter-web. I really want to get it on a scale to see if its any lighter than a SR5.
