I'm planning on getting a complete set of coilover soon, I was thinking of getting Brand new t3 coilover. But then my buddy offer me his megan coilover for 500 complete cause he's gona get greddy. any suggestion should i stick with low budget and grab the megan? i heard megan isn't that good.

i would go with a full bodied coilover setup over T3's ground control crap. Even if they're megan.

It's really your choice. I would say megan tho. For $500 coil all over you won't go wrong unless they are in bad condition.

I haven't seen alot of people talk about Megan's coils on either the old club hachiroku even the Europe forums. Maybe that's why I was a little hesitant on getting them. But they run great I would really want to go out and tune my suspension at the track when I get a chance tho

If I get the megan, it's gonna come with the full coil over, RCA, camber plate, etc.
And if I get t3 everything is new. It's pricy! Around 1700-1800

Well then technically they wouldent be T3 then if you change the shocks and dont use the rears haha. They would just be GC sleeves, Eibach springs and blah shocks with blah top hats lol

Pretty sure he's just talking about out of the box no modifications. Atleast thats what I thought.

You know, its a pretty sad day when club4ag recommends Megan racing over T3. Seriously. I don't like AGX shocks, but T3 has supported this community for so long, builds excellent quality coilover conversions, uses racing bred components (Ground Control) and has good fabricators.

I'm seriously, deeply ashamed to be associated with most of you just because I drive the same car.

The shocks on both are meh... If I had to pick between two setups with lackluster shocks I'd grab a $500 used set all day compared to a $1650 new set. Plus I wouldn't ever recommend a rear coilover setup unless the car was modified for it.

Nothing against T3. I'm just not a fan of the shocks they use, or any rear coilover setup. I actually plan on having him build me some front coilovers, but with better shocks like hts, trd, koni, bilstein, etc. eventually...

You don't have to use the rear coilover setup. you can purchase just the strut housing already cut, welded with the sleeve, spring, and camber plate. You can then choose your shocks.

Indeed, that's why I love t3. I was just going by the op's 2 selections considering price.

A lot of people like going the cheap and/or easy route. Easy i.e. an off-the-shelf or default setup. I also think a lot of people assume a dedicated aftermarket coilover is always better than a modified strut casing, even if it's BC or Megan....

If you aren't feeling the t3 coils that they already have made. I'm pretty sure you can just email them to put a different shock for the fronts.
Example.
I asked them if they can use the HTS short stroke front instead of what they used. They said yes. I only have to purchase and send it to them. But it's pretty muc like they a GC Ssleeve

I would respectfully have to disagree with most of you, if you're going to use them for drift, Touge, AutoX.... T3's are the one's to buy "if you can afford them" but in no way the Megan, Koni, Tokiko, are better then T3's you need Facts to back this argument up.

^That doesn't prove one is better than the other. However, it does show that the t3 setup performs good.

Tsuchiya is also known for advocating hts shocks. That doesn't mean they're the best.

T3 has amazing customer support, great people work with.
So, if you have a problem with thier product down the line, they are there to help. My girlfriend bought some parts from them last Christmas for me (awesome gf I know ) and they helped her order the right parts without me knowing

I've had Megan's and at the time they worked well and I was ok with them. After a while I didn't like them so I got parts shop max pro coilover and omg I won't be going back. Not to say that megans are bad but I do preffer PBM. With the swift springs and full rear coilover set up and with their shocks, I feel the car very predictable and smooth around bumpy corners while still being able to have adjustability in the rear for more soft adjustments. And they have caster adjustment too. T3 I would like to use them next for my next set up because even tho they're the "GC crap" ppl say they're out to be, you can choose a custom spring rate and have a choice of either agx shocks or hts or whatever you purchase I'm sure.

My opinion....

Megan coilovers - ok good bang for your buck

Parts shop max pro coilovers - preffered coilover and rocking them on and off the track and love them

Parts shop max competition coilovers- I asked Ryan Litteral and he really liked them

T3 coilover - would like to try them with a 7kg front and 5kg rear set up, I have that in my head as an ideal set up for track and street use with either agx or hts shocks.

That's my opinion but if you can get Megan coilovers for $5 billy goats and have something to practice with, go for it. If you have the money to throw down on some dg5's lmk how you like them cuz I'm very interested/ curious.

that's the beauty of T3 you can build you're ideal setup -customize- so in the end you end up with something accordingly to you're driving style. Which is a + because not most of us here are professional level driver's. So in the end you get something you can live with daily, and not a weekend warrior only car.
