common cost for a diff rebuild?

My rear end is howling like a mofo (haha). clunks when it comes off load. probably need a rebuild and wondering what just the rearend usually costs to rebuild if I take in just the pumpkin. ballpark?

I'm not sure exactly but I brought in my whole car and the parts including ring and pinyon to Kaaz and paid $400. I'm assuming it should be cheaper if you bring in just the pumpkin.

Kaaz is in long beach. Close enough? I went there from the IE.

I paid about 1000 dollars iirc

that was including parts: weir 4.7 r&p, solid spacers, all new diff bearings and shims, axle bearings, pinion seal, blah blah blah. parts were around $700 for everything.

plus assembly, and welding an open center, and then putting it all back in the housing.
