Wheel fitment with FC brakes

Postby Nomnom83 » Sat May 21, 2016 4:51 pm

I'd thought I'd share what I've experienced with various wheels that I have and there clearance big brakes such as the rx-7 upgrade. From what I've learned offset and spoke shape play a big part in fitment, not so much wheel size or even rotor size. Basically since this is 2 more piston on the outside of the hub means you need generous spoke curvature for proper clearance. Which also sucks cause most old wheel designs ssr mk1,2,3 are pretty flat to the hub, so spacers are necessary.

Koenig rewinds 15x7 0
Fits but need to make sure you have a hub ring or the wheel will contact the caliper

Ssr Longchamp 14x6.5 +2
Will fit only with 12-15mm spacer

Plz share your experience with different wheels and sizes, I'm particularly interested if watanabe fit nice or not.
