Starter help

Ok when I turn over the car with the key it will not start, but when I jump it with a screw driver with the key left in the on position the car starts just fine. Do these cars have a start solenoid switch located somewhere I do not know about that has possibly gone bad? If so where is the location. I'm also considering just wiring up a start switch from the battery if I cannot figure it out. All help is appreciated.

There is a switch on the clutch pedal that has to close (clutch pedal depressed) before
the starter relay energises and kicks the starter solenoid into life. If you get nothing
at all when you turn the key to START, check that the clutch switch hasn't fallen off

The starter relay is up high in the driver's side kick panel.

You wouldn't mind posting pictures of both of those for me. Please

This is looking up under the dash. On the right is the clutch pedal going
up to the pivot point. You can see a bent lug welded to the pedal, and on
the end of the lug is a rubber pad. That pad hits the end of the plunger
on that silver cylindrical switch. If the lock nut on the switch gets loose,
or something gets bent, or if the switch is borked, it does not make a
contact to allow the starter to work.

Seems like the relay is not sexy enough for anyone to have posted a pic :(
But it will be up among that bunch of relays on the lefthand side of the switch
pic I posted above.

Ok the pad is missing so I will use electrical tape to make a new pad with. I will let you know if that fixes the issue.
