AE86 Ring & Pinion Options

I plan on rebuilding my rear end soon and wanted to get your guys' input. Other than Weir, TRD or OEM Toyota, is there another company who makes good quality ring and pinions? I am still contemplating on getting a 4.7 or stock 4.3.

Weir performance r & p tend to wine. Thats about all I can say about them. They're the only one offering new r & p at an affordable price. The toyota r & p from what I last herd are very price right now (near $1000). If you can, I would try to buy a toyota one. Also while your changing your r & p, you may as well just get a rebuild kit with all new bearings and seals.

I am running a 4.7 Weir r & p, the power is noticeable and it does help the car out a lot. Its a good upgrade, however, make sure you do it with good quality parts and have it setup at a good shop. If you dont, you'll regret it.
