My SR 5 has the origional shicks in the fron and rear so i have front coils and rear lowering springs and shocks going in. The rear shocks are being a pain in the ass to remove.

What are the two nuts that hold the rear shocks on called and what is thr best way to remove them?

Thanks

If there are two nuts stacked one on top of the other, the top one is called a jam nut.

The tin one should be on top and locked against the bottom one. To get them off you
need to hold the botton nut with an open ended spanner, and then use a ring spanner
or socket on the top one to loosen it. Once the top one is loose, remove both nuts in
the usual way. Reverse the process for installation. Compress the bushings with the
large nut first, and then run the jam nut down and tighten it while holding the bottom
nut to prevent rotation.

Sometimes there's a notch at the very top of the threaded portion that you hold with a crescent wrench or vice grips to keep it from spinning.
