Interior paint

Postby ejmr20 » Mon Oct 27, 2014 5:45 pm

I went to home depot the other day to see if I can get some spray paint for my dark grey interior plastic pieces on my 85 gts. Picked up the darkest grey they had but it still wasn't close to the original. Doesn't anyone know where I can get a better match or know the color code? I would like to avoid just painting my interior black.

Thanks. Still trying to figure which one would be the closest match.

I posted this same question a few months ago, and I too am looking to match my dark grey interior. I went to a few Sherman Williams around my area to see if they could paint match and they said they dont do it anymore ); Also, they said over time the paint may fade - so although the original paint code was probably uniform throughout all the cars, the colors have faded differently so there are likely small variances among cars even with the same original color.... although Im not sure how much of a difference that would make  Anywho, me and the manager checked a lot of the SEM colors there as well and one looked like a great match but was just slightly noticeably different  so not sure how well you will find a match there. TORPARTs supposedly has matching SEM colors if you want to hit them up, although I havent gotten around to trying theirs yet....

..but if you find a solution, please fill me in!!! I was thinking of going the home depot route too to match but I guess thats out of the question now too ):

I was just thinking of going to Sheman Williams too. Sorry to hear no luck there. I emailed Torparts to see what they say. Will let you know if I find a match.

We have the paint. The exact paint. We just finished restoring an AE86 for Toyota Museum.

Paint is not for sold. We use the paint for our restoration clients ONLY.

One day when we are less busy we might consider selling the paint to the public until then, good luck.
