Aftermarket Carpet

Postby ToeKnee805 » Tue Aug 19, 2014 11:12 pm

Has anyone ever shopped for an aftermarket carpet for our cars? All the ones i see at the Junkyard are torn to shreds or moldy as hell. Looking to see if anyones ordered one through websites like: http://www.stockinteriors.com/

I've ordered from them... they sell Auto Custom Carpet carpetting... at a HUGE discount from ACC. I ordered a standard pile with the standard jute/fiber backing.....

I have an AE71, and I've not yet tried to fit my carpet.

A local friend also purchased ACC carpetting from Rock Auto. He has an AE86... he ordered it with the expensive high density backing... and his DOES NOT FIT. In his case we believe the backing is the problem. The width is not wide enough in his case.

A LOOOOONG time ago... when I was restoring 64-73 Mustangs... ACC was the best replacement available (at the time)

So... yes it is new carpet... but you may have to get creative

It seems like it can be hit or miss with most aftermarket carpets.
I ordered one a long time ago for my S14 and it just did not fit that great. The quality was kind of lousy too.

It would be nice to know where to get fresh, good fitting carpet for AE86 these days!
