I was swapping over to manual from PS rack and i saw that the tie rods that i bought and the tie rods that are installed are different. I have a 84 hatch built June 1984 and i bought the manual inner and outer tie rods? I didn't install them all the way just hand tight without dust boots but they look like their going to be to long. I don't know if I bought the wrong part or if it even matters. P/s rack on top Manual on the bottom. If anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it. Thanks

I don't know if too long is a bad thing because I think you now have increased steering angle for your super speed entry drifts :D
But if you use power steering tie rods on a manual rack its like a ghetto, super free, steering angle upgrade.
I think it should be fine, correct me if I'm wrong others.

The tie rods on the manual rack in that picture won't work. They look like mr2 or fwd corolla tie rods.

Both the inner and outers look wrong? And should the outers be long and curved like P/S ones?

That's how the ae86 tie rods look. Most places have the ae86 tie rods listed under "corolla coupe" or "corolla 2-door" for your model year.

the coupe and hatch tie rods are the same it doesnt matter witch ones you run,ive ran them both on my manual rack and have never had a problem, just with some brands of tie rods you have to cut them down a little bit to work on the manual rack.
