VSV problems

Postby HachirokuLover86 » Fri May 30, 2014 3:24 pm

So yesterday one of the black wires on that vacuum tank thing came undone.
Ever since then when i try and start my car, it just dies. Seems like a vacuum problem.
Could that wire cause this?
Some people said if i dont have AC i dont need it. ( Vacuum tank in picture. )
But when i unplug it and plug the vacuum lines same thing happens the car just dies.
Thanks in advance. I am very confused at this point!

Car: 1986 ae86 GTS.
All stock. No AC

That VSV is not for the A/C, it is for electric load idle-up. It slightly raises the idle when you turn on things like headlights, A/C blower motor, brake lights, etc.
I don't think it should affect the idle enough to stall the car... does it stall right away, or does it struggle for a while then stall?

Its stalls right away.
Yeah i really didn't think this would be the cause either.
Ok then it must be another problem somewhere in the vacuum system.
Thank you very much for the quick reply!

I heard there is a separate idle-up for the blower motor. Should be somewhere under the dash. Passenger side perhaps?
