Picked up a rear end from a 1985 celica GT (not IRS), the axle code on the plate said T283, which SHOULD be 6.7 inch LSD, but I'm confused as there's no LSD oil plate( i know it doesn't mean much) and I thought only the celica GTS came with LSD. Also, the pinion nut is painted blue, I cant remember what the paint differences were, they were posted somewhere either here or on 86 garage but I can't find them. Only one I can barely remember was red = auto SR5 , which is the rear end I have in the car right now.


Will I also need the rear drive shaft to fit this rear end? I may go back to double check the axle code and get that drive shaft if its still there....

After going back to look at the axle code and doing a bit more research, it looks like I have a T382 dif. The pinion nut was also painted purple, not blue as I originally thought. I'm definatly going to have to change that final drive.
