Another 4AG Problem
My engine likes to start to cut out when I take right turns. I'm thinking its an electrical issue. Any thoughts to the AE86 owners of the world?

Re: Another 4AG Problem
Is it a GTS or a SR5 converted to GTS?
If it is an SR5/GTS conversion, and the GTS tank and fuel lines were not swapped over, you are likely running an un-baffled fuel tank. When you initiate a "hard" right turn on 1/4ish tank, all of your fuel is sloshing away from the fuel pump pick up, thus the cutting out...
If you indeed have a true GTS this may not be the case.
Hope this helps.

thanks man, ill keep that in mind. Havnt got around to the fuel pump just yet. i read supra fuel pumps are pretty good as far as performance and affordability go.

If it is the fuel tank causing your problems you will find the same issue happening with the supra pump.

All kouki tanks from mid 86 - 87 have the baffle, regardless SR5 or GTS. Only one way to find out if yours does!
Time to drop the tank and have a look.

Re: Another 4AG Problem
sounds about right. im prolly going to just get a custom tank and install it in my trunk.

Re: Another 4AG Problem
Is it or is it not cured when there is more then 1/4 tank?
An unnecessarily larger pump will do ZERO for performance and may even create a problem.

the amount of fuel doesn't matter. actually, turning right tends to cut the engine completely but if the engine has been on for a while or its hot, the engine starts to sputter.

Re: Another 4AG Problem
I would def still check the tank as there might be something wrong with your pick up on your pump, but it does seem strange that the level of fuel does not matter. I would start at the tank though, not too difficult to drop and check. Keep us posted, and good luck.
