Front Wheel rubbing issue?
Running 15x9 wheels cby flare with 1/2" wheel spacer. Was wondering if someone running the same setup have issue with the tire rubbing against the back when you take a hard turn. Looking for solution to fix the problem. I could run smaller tires but was wondering if anyone knows the exact size for it to fit and if there another solution? Please let me know very close to finishing the body work. Thanks for looking. <(. ^-^. )>
Re: Front Wheel rubbing issue?
Use adjustable tension rods if you can't adjust the oem ones enough to clear.
Next problem will be hitting the fender/bumper tabs.

So the adjustable tension rod allows the wheel to move foward so that it doesnt rub the back part of the wheel well?

have you flattened the seam? It was detailed in one of the sr5 to gts magazine articles. Cut slices into the seam(so it doesnt split) and hammer flat.

Oh nice. Can you still use the plastic liner after hammering the pinch weld? If not it leaves a gap for water/debrie to go into the door and the wire harness is expose.

I am running CBY flares as well.
Last year, I ran a 15x8.5 -22 wheel and 205/50 tire with T3 NCRCAs.
You will probably have to do what MisterJerk suggested and yes, getting adjustable tension rods are pretty much required.
And yes, I had to the back edges of my front bumper as well.

I didn't hammer the pinch weld completly just the part where it rubbed and i can still run the liner. But i chose not to run the liner cause it rubs on bad roads. Also the gap at the door gets dirty but just clean it from time to time.
But i'm running baby size 15x8 et0 so it's probably not the same with even wider wheels.

It will be difficult to have whole liner attached...
Liner is crucial near the door to prevent water and debris

Which will make that section rust out. With that said, I threw mine away a long time ago. They rubbed when i got 205-50-15 on 15x7 0 offset wheels. Since i threw them liners out, I ended up cleaning that whole area under the fender and por 15 on it.
During fall, that area fills up with leaves. winter its sand and salt. I make sure to spray that area out and inspect for fresh rust whenever i wash her.
Also, my bumper tabs are removed, fenders rolled, Seam smashed a bit.

Is pulling the fender what is suggested to keep from rubbing on the bumper tabs? That's my current issue right now and I can't drive it because of this.
Seam hammered, tension rods adjusted but I will hit the skirt if I go back any further and I'm still rubbing.

Re: Front Wheel rubbing issue?
You talking about the mount point for the bumper, where it screws to the fender, at the corner? If so, Cut it at an angle, so it doesnt look cut and zip tie the bumper to the fender from the inside.

I'll have to look at it this weekend and see if I understand what you're saying.
