prepare to laugh....and help

Just installed the T3 ultimate rear chassis brace. it works amazing except i overlooked one thing...i left the spare bolted down and welded the front brackets. So now I cant remove the spare. Any ideas on how to get it out without grinding welds? I dont mind cutting a crappy spare tire wheel in half, i just want to try and make it easier than that

Re: prepare to laugh....and help
Grinding the welds may be substantially easier than trying to knock a wheel and tire into pieces with a sawzall.
You could try deflating the tire and tossing a ratchet strap around it to compress it. Not sure if the wheel itself is small enough to make its way out.
New take on painting yourself into a corner.
Re: prepare to laugh....and help
I am going to cut the tire off today. It's dry rotted anyways, its the original spare that came with the car.

Re: prepare to laugh....and help
How'd that turn out? At some point I've taken a sawzall to an empty tire - still not entirely sure why. I can imagine the pita it will be /was with the tire trying to jump around the spare well/bottoming out the blade...
Re: prepare to laugh....and help
There are those fun little metal bands around the bead seat are too. I have had to cut what was left of tires that blew out before. Not fun even when you can get at it easily.

Rotary tool with a 10,000 rpm cutting wheel I ran out of cutting wheels. Looks like a project for a weekend. My boss thought it was funny as hell when he saw it.

Re: prepare to laugh....and help
This is exactly why t3 should have made that middle bar removable -.-
Re: prepare to laugh....and help
No. That's why you check before installing things. If the middle bar was removable it wouldnt be as stiff.

Re: prepare to laugh....and help
LOL, sorry this made my day. but yes, cutting the spare rim even enough to bend it and yank it out would be best.

+1 for the double checking part
As for the not being as stuff... Strut bars have screws making the bar removable soo I don't believe in it being less stiff if the middle bar was removable. If anything the difference would be too small to make a difference. I had an ueo copy rear hatch chassis brace like yours without a middle bar or a bar connecting the rear points and that was plenty stiff for what it was.
Aside from that looking forward to picks to make my day haha this sh** was hilarious to read

Do not go near the new PC with your welder
thanks for the laughs, made my day
Re: prepare to laugh....and help
The easiest redneck way to get it out is....don't. You slide a piece of board or sheet metal over it and put the carpet back
Re: prepare to laugh....and help
If you could find some in the right size, you could cut the center bar, remove the spare, and then reinstall the center bar with some roll cage end bungs:

It would give you the ability to use the spare tire well with a minimal and most likely negligable change in brace rigidity.
