It's not worth it unless you have a turbo or supercharger. You'll be fine using 91 octane.

roger that. was thinking of just ordering higher octane fuel (race gas) by the barrel (cheaper when slit with friends) and mixing for a better octane.

IMO mixing in race gas on a stock naturally aspirated engine is way overkill, especially for street use. If you're doing a track day you could mix some in for piece of mind, but it's really not necessary. Don't expect a bump in power. In this case the only benefit would be raising the knock threshold.

^yea i wasnt expecting a bump in power, just considering the fact the 20v bt was used with higher octane fuel. and knock protection is always a plus.

Running your drive line angle at 3* will not cause any real issues. Ideally you want the u-joints running at parallel angles, but in the real world carrying four or five passager in the car would change the drive angle more than that. I'm running just a 1* drive angle, and have adjust the pinion angle upward an additional 1* out of phase, and have not had and issues in over 30,000 miles.

You should be fine with premium but if you feel like blowing money a better place to start would be some sort of knock monitor. If you see knock than address it. If you don't see knock then you are just wasting money on more octane.

I do agree that meth injection and or E85 is generally a waste of time for NA motors although I do have a customer currently building a race motor with 13.5:1 compression and 304 cams that will be running E85.
Definitely interested to see how it works out.

cheapest way to boost speed is weight reduction.

Start with your body...not your cars chassis but your fat ass (if you're fat...LOL)
