**Electronic Distributor into AE86

Postby 86hatchling » Mon Feb 24, 2014 2:43 pm

I'm trying to gather more information on this conversion. 4ac electronic distributor-installed in AE86 4ac.
I've came across a few vague write ups or topic post but nothing Descriptive.
Installation seems straight forward I just wouldn't know how to direct my +/- wires.
Wiring is my weak point, which leads me too.. The wiring. How/Where do I connect/wire in the coil properly?

Install dizzy-spark plug wire to coil...
Install external coil (where do i splice the coil into, where is it advised to run the +/-
The non specific diagram posted I saw list a BIM024 connector, but it hasn't been mentioned along with the post.
Someone posted 2 pics (no bim connector)
***BIM connector is inside the distributor.

If anyone is familiar with this setup or could be of assistance with the electrical part it would be a great help!

***AE82 does not have a external coil as far as I could gather from Toyota and other parts stores.
If ae82's do, a specific year or part number would be...useful.
80-82 Tercel does have a external coil and is supposed to fit.

80-82 Tercel distributor discontinued. Hunting.
3/4AC and 2/4L engines have interchangeable distributors. I don't know this as fact just from reading up.
