Cusco hood FRP differences

Postby llloyd » Sun Apr 06, 2014 9:52 am

What is the difference between the USDM (118 810 A ) and JDM spec(116 810 A) FRP hood that cusco makes? I run the jdm bumpers but they seem to work just fine with the usdm hood, not sure why the different part numbers.

The USDM part number is for models with pop up headlights that were sold in North America, and the 'JDM' part number is for a levin which has fixed headlights. I've had both and they fit great.

Thanks. That is what Taka was saying it's the only way to go for good fitment and lighter than the carbon options. Do you know the difference between the curved and flat acrylic windows? Huge price difference for curved seems a no brainer to go flat on the hatch.

There are a few companies in Japan (can't remember who) that make carbon fiber hoods that weigh up to 40% less than the cusco hoods, but they cost over $2k.

I have no experience with windows. but I assume the curved would look and fit better since all oem glass is curved. Going on a street car? NVH will increase considerably.

You can always contact Cusco USA directly. They honestly have some of the best customer service in the auto industry that I've experienced.

100% race car. I'm at the point that I'm thinking of ditching the pass/driver windows entirely since I can't run with them up anyways.

I'm going to get on the phone with Cusco Monday seems like the way to go.
