Roll Cages.

Postby overspool » Fri Jan 31, 2014 8:05 am

I'm going to be putting a cage in my car soon, and I have been looking at the Rhodes Racing cages. Several of my friends run them (one of them runs it in his FD S13), and they've held up excellent. They're cheap, and work well. So, my only question is: they only list one for AE86, they don't have different ones for coupe or hatch. Will it be the same? I assume because it's not a bolt in cage, you just weld it to where it will work, but I don't know a whole lot about cages, that's a part of motorsports that I haven't delved into yet.

I can't help you as far as the cage specific questions but the fist thing you will want to do is dig into the rulebooks for any and all types of racing you plan on doing. Make sure the cage meets all requirements and figure out what the mounting requirements are. That should answer most of your questions.

yoshi- The cages from Rhodes Racing have a couple of different options, but the one I'm looking at is compliant with FD regulations. I just don't how much altering I will have to do if it was intended for use in a hatch instead of a coupe (I have a coupe).
