i really need help with my ms 1 board version 3.0

Postby turboIIlover » Tue Dec 17, 2013 7:16 pm

okay so im having an issue with starting my car and sometimes idle
the engine i have in the car is a 7age besides the motor being a bigger displacement i have nothing else done so stock injector stock ignition ect
what happens is when im cranking the motor (cold) i have to flood clear for a very short period then it will start, i try the same thing with the engine at operating temperature to no avail i tried a lot of different setting (ie pulse widths) and it always sounds like it wants to start but it doesn't
i saved the tune settings and i wanted to know if any one could try it out and maybe make some correction

I don't have MS on my car anymore, but how many cranks do you have it set to before ignition? I always had mine set to 3. have you checked that your TPS is still zero at closed throttle? what RPM is the starter cranking the motor to?

I don't have MS and can't see your settings. But, basically an engine needs
three things to start... fuel, air and spark. Assuming your spark is still close
to where it was before (timing will have changed slightly with the 7AGE), that
should not be the problem. Likewise, if your fueling is the same as it was
before, then the engine most likely would be running a fraction leaner.

However, you have to use flood clear on a cold engine, which suggests that
it is over fueling. Makes me think you need more air... have you tried giving
the engine a bit of throttle while cranking ? Hot engines also need more air
when cranking, and if flood clear doesn't work, you probably are too rich.

Have you checked to make sure your ECU water temp sensor is hooked up ?
