bad ground maybe??

Postby daveskatesallday » Wed Aug 07, 2013 9:01 pm

had to clean up the engine bay a few weeks ago, removed the engine harness as well as the front harness, after I was done i put everything back where it came from double, triple, quad, checked everything

a day or so later i noticed my check battery and parking brake light were on and off while driving i know this usually indicates the alternator is going bad but it's fairly new so that can't be an issue besides it was fine before I removed everything.

then a few days later I noticed the passenger headlight would start flickering randomly while driving at night and on the gauge cluster the right turn signal arrow stays illuminated but when i walk in front of the car the turn signal light isn't actually on so it sounds like a wiring or ground issue anyone got some advice?

What does that mean? Only that everything is in the same place it was before you first touched it?.
Don't know what it is or how old it is, but if you've been pulling & tugging & twisting 20+YO connectors & terminals & wires, then I'd suspect that there is a problem from a terminal or wire or connector. Every single thing from an almost broken wire to smegma/corrosion in a connector to loose wire crimp to a loose connector, not the F'ing plastic thingy(though that can be a problem), but all the male to female contacts in each one.

basically i was saying that i put all the connectors in their original place i've taken the harnesses out before without having this happen but this is true it is an old car
